Looking at the four main plots of my choose your own adventure I have come to realize that the 3rd plot is really really too different from the other three to fit. Gotta change it.

Story 3 character bio’s - feedback desperately wanted

Pathik Johar
Pathik was just another orphan on the street. He grew up with the other street urchins, earning his food and clothing the usual way by stealing it. He is extremely lucky and has never been caught stealing. He was eventually taken in as a preteen by a teacher and his family. His new dad taught him everything he could, and Pathik devoured all the information like soup. He was extremely bright, and eventually had nothing more to learn from his father. He started helping his father out at the school and eventually earned a job as a teacher himself. He doesn’t earn much money as a teacher, and has never been able to let go of the thrill of thieving. His adoptive father doesn’t know for sure about his son’s stealing habits, but strongly suspects from the nice clothes Pathik always seems to have, but could never afford. He eventually moved to another town to teach at a school that needed him more. The students there were less than grateful about their new teacher. While he was teaching there, a few of the worst students killed a girl on accident. Fearing for their lives, they managed to frame Pathik for it. Knowing he couldn’t prove his innocence he ran away until he could do something. Unable to teach any longer for fear of being found out, he spends his time developing his painting talent. He is saving up that money to be able to go back to his town and pay someone off to help him teach his ex-students a lesson as well as to clear his name.

Sandro Ortega
Sandro was born male, but identifies as neither male nor female. As a child he used to push the boundaries of what was supposed to be his assigned gender, but people especially the other children in his school did not take to this so well. When he showed up to school in a rather feminine outfit, a few of the kids decided to teach him a “lesson” by burning the right side of his face. Since then he has made sure to always present as male, even though it pains him some times. As an adult, he makes up for that by spending most of his money on very fashionable clothes, including some women’s clothing (which he only wears at home). Sadly, he goes overboard and tends not to have much money left after. He is fairly ordinary in most aspects, and has a variety of skills that he is average at. For a while as a youth, he was a guard and there he developed his one excellent skill, the crossbow. When he is pressed for money, which is more often since he took in an orphaned girl, he sells his skills as a crossbowman. His tendency to overspend has landed him in many debts. He is currently severely indebted to Pathik, who lent him a large sum of money once after he sold a large painting. When Pathik’s money ran out he came to Sandro to be repaid. Sandro, not having the money any longer, is now in servitude as a guard and assistant to Pathik to pay back his debt. He has a very small amount of magic, which he uses by whistling various tunes. It’s not enough to do much, but is helpful in a pinch.

Story 2 character bio’s - feedback desperately wanted

Nitza Rothburg
Nitza was born to a poor family that worked as servants for a well-off merchant family. When she was a child, there was a house fire and she became trapped while her family made it out. The left side of her face, near her temple got singed. A woman she had never seen before rescued her. The woman had actually been in the house because she had been looking for a treasure she had heard the merchant family had. The woman explained the item she was looking for was part of a set from an old prophecy that needed to be destroyed before they could be brought together, else a terrible dark force would make it’s way to their world. The item was not there however, and to prevent being arrested for breaking into their home, the woman ran off. The rest of her life she dreamed about finding the woman again and helping her find the items. Nitza was always very shy and quiet, as the family she worked for did not appreciate loud servants. However, to make up for her quiet demeanor, she discovered she was quite talented in persuasion. She convinced her family that her leaving would be a good idea, and managed to get a small amount of money to start her on her travels. Nitza has strong plant-based powers which she kept secret from her family. She uses those powers to grow wild plants faster and sell them in towns she passes to make money for a place to stay.

Atsuo Yoshida
Atsuo was always a loner. He never liked crowds even when he was a kid. His parents were neither well off nor poor. He went to school as long as he could until his parents had to pull him out so he could help around the home. He learned enough to start writing. He loved to run off and write in the fields. As he got older and got his own place, he went outside less and less and spent more time writing at home. His favorite thing to write about are his religious beliefs. He feels very strongly about it.  Over the years, he found it harder and harder to deal with people, especially those that would harass him over his religion. He started having panic attacks, and it got so bad he would never leave his house. He met Nitza by accident one day, and somehow they became good friends. Nitza is the only one he feels calm around, and is the only one he feels comfortable enough around to leave his house. He likes to read his writing to her, and she tries to convince him to sell his writing and make money off his books. He doesn’t feel comfortable enough though to leave his house and present his writing to a total stranger. Nitza stopped by his place to tell him her quest, and he decided to accompany her. Despite his fears of leaving his home, his bond with Nitza is too strong for him to feel comfortable letting her loose in the world alone.

Story 1 character bio’s - feedback desperately wanted

Here are the revised character bio’s of the first two characters who will be part of “Story 1”. Feed welcome, if not wanted desperately. >_> Characters from stories 2, 3, and 4 coming soon.

Miryam Fischl
Miryam’s mother raised her alone, traveling a small area of the country with their wagon of meager goods to sell. To make up for their lack of funds, her mother would spend a lot of time telling Miryam stories about the gods and how they put the magic in the water. She would often tell her about the fabled oasis of the gods, where any wish could be granted, even bringing someone back from the dead. Miryam loved her mother dearly and hung onto every word she spoke. When Miryam was in her early teens, her mother became gravely ill and passed away, leaving her all alone. She decided at that moment that she would use their cart as a way to amass the means to travel the world and find the mythical oasis. Scared of being poor all her life as she had been in childhood, Miryam lives modestly so that she may save as much of her profits as possible. She uses these funds to travel further than before, and eventually proved herself to be a very good businesswoman, managing to expand her one lonely cart into a full traveling market with her own employees. Being alone for so long made Miryam very apathetic towards other’s feelings. Rather than care about other people, she tended to treat them as tools and exploit their weaknesses to get what she wanted. However, the few who could get through to her to become true friends, had her unwavering loyalty. She also has a small talent in air-based magic, which she uses occasionally to put on performances when her market is pressed for cash or needs to earn room and board at a town.

Takeo Okoro
Takeo came from a poor family with too many children. His parents were often uncaring and harsh, so he grew a somewhat bitter personality. His crass attitude did not sit well with his parents, and they tried to break him of it by locking him in the dark, bug infested shed to punish him. He developed a deep phobia of anything with more than six legs from then on. When he was old enough, he left home. He dreams of owning his own shop one day where he can sell goods from all over the world. He apprenticed in quite a few shops, and picked up a number of languages easily. Noting how easily he learned languages, and how many he knew already, Miryam hired him as an interpreter for her traveling market. Realizing his opportunity, he accepted, hoping to be able to start his own stall within her shops. Unfortunately, due to his negative nature and habit of cussing out anyone who sets him off, Miryam declined him, not wanting him to set a bad image for her shops. He continues to travel with her because she pays well enough, and continues to hope that she will give him a chance eventually. Having never been taught how to handle money, he has a bad habit of blowing all his cash on his over the top clothing.

My Characters - Constructive Criticism? Encouraging Notes?

Ok, so as I mentioned I’m working on a choose-your-own-adventure story. There will be 4 characters to choose from and each of these characters will have a secondary main character with them/companion/whatever.

Can someone look over the 8 main characters and tell me if they sound terrible/interesting/worst thing you’ve ever seen?

Please keep in mind that these characters are going to be set up in a world I made up and all notations of heritage/ethnicity are merely for appearance reference and not actually quite accurate representations of their person.

I’m really nervous about that story I’ve been trying to write and I wonder if I should do some fanfics to practice writing before I start my story… but I haven’t done fanfics since like… 2003.

Like, you can read the terrible terrible stories here if you want. There’s one Card Captor Sakura, one Digimon and then 5 Hey Arnold ones. ;_; Oh god. They are so bad.

Anyway, my point was, if I do, what fandom, genre, and characters should I focus on. :/ I really have no idea. Gimme advice! D:

So I’m currently trying to write a story to fill my time up while I’m at work since the baby can’t sleep yet and I don’t have my own laptop yet to download my 3d programs (I’m currently using her mom’s laptop)…

I had been working on creating a world and was unsure how I wanted the story to go when my boyfriend suggested making a build-your-own adventure book. I loved the idea and decided to make it have 4 main storylines depending on which character you picked. Since I was stuck on the plot/characters I actually used my memegenerators to come up with their basics and build the story from there.

I’ve got my basics on the characters know and wanted to know if anyone would look them over and tell me if they’re shit. I don’t wanna start writing and then someone tell me halfway through that my characters are crap.

EDIT:

If anyone wants the memegens, they are here and here
